Ada’s Dream

It’s my birthday and I am in New York, riding in the carriage with my friends in Central Park, just like in that picture you had above your desk. But there are protesters all around and they are violent, and my friend says, “Let’s go through our hometown.” And I say, “No, there is war in our hometown and we’ll get killed.” Another friend says, “Let’s just go this way.” When we reach the street corner, there is a big meadow full of daffodils, and there are painters with easels, sitting and painting. And there is a large piano in the midst of it. I start playing “Ode to Joy” and all of them just stand around me and sing.
